Private graveside services will be held for Sharon Faye Halverson of Owatonna. Friedrich Funeral Service in New Richland is in charge of arrangements.
Sharon Halverson passed away on May 19, 2012. She was 68 years old. Sharon was born in Albert Lea on June 28, 1943. The daughter of Francis and Irene (Aird) Kobernus, she graduated from New Richland High School in June of 1961. She attended an art school in Minneapolis, and lived in Inver Grove Heights before eventually settling down in Owatonna. Sharon was a very gifted artist, and her work was shown in many art fairs. She worked various jobs throughout her life, but her passion remained in the beautiful paintings, sculptures, and other works she created. She was a talented seamstress as well. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Kobernus; and daughter, Angela Halverson. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Bratton of Owatonna; brother, Billy Kobernus of Minneapolis; nephew, David Bratton; and step-daughter Julie Van Remortel.
