Laura Klassen

Laura M. (Duncan) Klassen, 60, of Albert Lea formerly of Cannon Falls, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the Methodist Campus of Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

A celebration of Laura’s life will be held at a later date once restrictions are lifted.

Laura was born February 24, 1960 in Cannon Falls, MN to Gifford and Dixie (Tannahill) Duncan. She graduated with the class of 1978 from Cannon Falls High School.

On January 15, 1983 Laura married Jim Klassen and raised 4 children.

Early in her working career Laura was a department manager for Walmart in the Automotive section and was able to work for numerous locations during her 10 plus years with the company. Recently, she was the proud and dedicated kitchen manager for Wedgewood Cove Golf Course in Albert Lea.

Laura was a dedicated worker, but found time for reading, her grandkids and family, and her dog, Chica! She was the “Boss” or “Mom” to whoever needed her, and her strong personality will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Cory Klassen, Jennifer Klassen, James Klassen and Andrew Klassen; grandchildren, Amy, Nathaniel, Braydon and Haven; siblings, Daniel Duncan, Nancy Randolph, Larry (Roxanne) Duncan and Mary (Jackie) Couch; and many friends and family.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Amy Klassen.
