Delores Stencel

Funeral Services for Delores A. Stencel, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 4, at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. Father Kurt Farrell will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Richland. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Delores died on Monday, October 28, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, MN. She was 90. She was born on August 20, 1929, in Minnesota Lake, the daughter of Vincent and Anna (Veloske) Rathai. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School with the class of 1947. Delores was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Donald P. Stencel on October 26, 1948, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. Together they made their home in Albert Lea and were blessed with a daughter Kimberly. Delores was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. She lived her faith, and spent her life caring for others. She enjoyed crafting, embroidery and baking.

Delores is survived by her daughter Kimberly, sister-in-law Agnes Rathai, nephews and nieces, Curtis Rathai, Marilyn Stenzel, Lavern and Trish Sailor, Alvin Knutson, Julie Sailor, and their families. She was preceded in death by husband Donald Stencel,  parents Vincent and Anna Rathai, siblings, Everald Sailor (Ira), Marvin Rathai, Maynard Rathai, and nephew-in-law LeRoy Stenzel.
