Steven V. Colwell

Steven “Steve” Virgil Colwell, a dedicated husband, father, and Navy veteran, passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 74, in Austin, MN. Born on November 26, 1949, in Mason City, IA, Steve married his beloved wife, Mary Ann Spaeth, at the historic Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA, on May 22, 1976.

After serving in the Navy for six years, Steve worked diligently in the paint department at AgCo for over 15 years. His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for fishing, a passion he cherished throughout his life.

Steve and his wife Mary Ann shared over four decades of cherished memories in Jackson, MN, where they lived for more than 40 years before relocating to Albert Lea, MN. Though known for his stubbornness, Steve's warm and friendly demeanor endeared him to all who knew him, especially to his loyal canine companion of 10 years, Marley.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Genevieve (Roberts) Colwell; and brother, Gary Colwell.
Left to cherish Steve’s memory are his wife of 47 years, Mary Ann Colwell; children, Sarah (Kelly) Colwell, Brian Lewis, Dawn (Brent) Klinner-Albright, Kevin Lewis, Marc Paulsen; grandchildren, Alex Albright, Skyler Klinner-Lozano, Dylan Riggle, and Ashley Riggle.
