Obituary for Stella Irene Anderson
The funeral service for Stella Irene Anderson will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 27, 2004 at Thorne Crest Retirement Home Chapel. The Reverend Dan Baker of First Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the chapel. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Stella died on Monday, December 20, 2004 at Thorne Crest Health Care Wing. She remained cheerful to the end. So many thanks must go to the staff and valued employees at Thorne Crest (north and south).
Stella was born October 24, 1911 on a farm near Manchester, the daughter of Sam and Ida (Hullum) Hegtveit. Her education was at district 18 and Albert Lea High School.
On August 10, 1933 she wed Oscar Julian Anderson at the Hartland Lutheran Parsonage. The marriage lasted 62 years.
Stella worked at the Albert Lea High School cafeteria for 22 years. She was a long time member of First Lutheran Church. Stella was a good daughter, wife, and mother. She never tired of seeing young children, even into her 93rd year.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Olga and Alma (in infancy); brothers: Elmer, Oscar and Lawrence; and her husband, Oscar.
Stella is survived by her two children: daughter, Jean (John) Anderson Munce of Mountain Home, Arkansas and son, Richard Anderson of Albert Lea, MN; grandson, Jonathan (Melissa) Munce and their children, Andy and Katie of Cottage Grove, MN; granddaughter, Joanna (Terrill) Munce Power and their child, Logan of Rockford, IL.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer?s Association.
