Scott John Rasmussen

Scott "Scud" John Rasmussen, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the age of 66.

Scott was born on June 3, 1960, in Bloomington, Minnesota, to John and Patricia (Boe) Rasmussen. Scott grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1979, after which he pursued a degree in business at Rochester Community College. He dedicated over 30 years to a successful career as an auditor at Hormel, and later took great pride in owning and operating Scott's Office Products until his retirement in 2023.

Scott was an avid and accomplished golfer who enjoyed many years on the course with his friends and family. He was a mainstay of the local golf community and a lifelong competitor at Green Lea Golf Course. Scott’s skill, precision, and passion for the game earned him numerous accolades over the years, including Senior Club Champion, frequent flight winner in the Shortstop Tournament, and achieving nine career hole-in-ones. He will be deeply missed by his friends on the fairway.

Beyond the golf course, Scott enjoyed playing cribbage, cards, and fishing with his buddies. Many mornings began with meeting close friends for coffee, followed by fishing along the shoreline.

One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his sweet miniature schnauzer, Bixby. He loved taking her on car rides while working and cuddling with her on the couch while watching sports.

Scott is survived by his daughter, Dayna (Kevin) Lopez; and his grandson, Judah, who reside in Fort Worth, Texas; his siblings: Cindy (Lyndon) Schewe, Jack (Darci) Rasmussen, Buck (Janelle) Rasmussen, and Joie (Jason) Willner; as well as his nieces and nephews, including Heidi (Greg) Eichten, Heather (Michael) Ebeling, Trevor (Kristen) Rasmussen, Whitney (Nate) Wilson, Sara (Levi) Hanson, Ben Rasmussen, Paige Rasmussen, Andrew Willner, and Hannah Willner; as well as many extended family members and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Patricia Rasmussen; his grandparents, Clifford and Nina Rasmussen, Leonard and Althea Boe; as well as his uncle and aunt, Roger and Sandy Kelley; his uncle, Dennis Boe; and his cousin, Shannon Kelley Johnson.

A celebration of Scott's life will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Green Lea Golf Course, 101 East Richway Drive, Albert Lea 56007, where his family and friends will gather to honor and remember his impact in their lives.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Scott's golfing and fishing buddies, who were a vital part of his life and whom he deeply cherished. His absence will be felt profoundly, but his spirit and memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
