Ronald "Ron" Duane Edwin

Ronald “Ron” Duane Edwin, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 on Wednesday, October 14 at Bonnerup Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Preston State Veterans Cemetery at 1 PM on Monday, October 19.

Ron Edwin was born in Albert Lea, MN on August 11, 1946 to Richard and Nora (Galabiff) Edwin. He grew up and attended School in Albert Lea. After his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. When he completed his service, he returned to the Albert Lea area and began working for Bridon Cordage where he worked until his retirement in 2011. On October 4, 1975 Ron married Diane Roell. The couple made their home in the Walters area where they lived until the time of his death.

Ron loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and fishing in the spring and summer and ice fishing in the winter, In the fall he could be found bow hunting for deer or duck and goose hunting. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with Diane. Above all, Ron loved spending time with his family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane; Sisters Donna Sanvik (Ron), Sharon O'Grady (Tim), brother Tim Edwin (Raycy) and several Nieces, great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his nephew; aunts and uncles.
