Obituary: Patricia Jane Andersen



The funeral service for Patricia Jane Andersen of 1016 Maple Hill, Albert Lea, Minnesota will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Albert Lea. Pastor Tamara Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Bonnerup Funeral Service., Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church



Patricia died suddenly Sunday, January 4, 2004 at her home. She was 80 years old.



Patricia was born November 18, 1923 at Port Huron, Michigan to Alec and Anna Pidgeon.

She graduated from Deerborn High School and then from Business School at Detroit, Michigan.

Patricia married E. Douglas Andersen on September 17, 1945 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Detroit, Michigan. In 1947 they moved to Fordville, North Dakota and then in August, 1965 moved to Albert Lea. While at Fordville, North Dakota she and her husband operated a creamery for 18 years. Throughout her life, she was very active in her church. When she moved to Albert Lea, she became very active at Salem Lutheran Church and it's circles. Patricia belonged to the hospital auxiliary and volunteered at the City Library. She enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, animals, gardening and especially was an avid Viking and Twins fan. Patricia was a wonderful grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. Patricia was well liked by all of her neighbors.



Patricia is survived by her four sons: Douglas J. Andersen and his wife Linda of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Greg Andersen and his wife Rose Mary of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Kim Andersen and his wife Mary of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and Scott Andersen and his wife Karen of Twin Lakes, Minnesota; grandchildren: Karri of Tulsa, Oaklahoma, Matt, Kristen and Katey of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Jennifer of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Jeremy of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Holly and Emily of Twin Lakes, Minnesota; seven great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law: James and Mary Bandelin of Hendersonville, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews.



Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; husband E. Douglas Andersen on June 22, 2001; sister Virginia and two brothers James and Richard; a great granddaughter: Cheyenne.
