Owatonna

Pamela Jane "Pam" (Bangert) Karge, 61, of Owatonna, passed away on October 27, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, following a brain surgery.

Born on September 3, 1963, in Albert Lea, Pam was a daughter of Patricia (Light) Bekaert and the late Loren Bangert. Pam was raised on a farm near Glenville, along with her siblings, Sharon, Kristin, and Jeffrey.

In 1981, Pam graduated with honors from Glenville High School. She went on to attend Riverland Community College in Albert Lea, where she completed a Legal Secretary course, before accepting her first job with a law firm in New Ulm. With her great attention to details and organizational skills, Pam was very meticulous about her work.

In 1985, Pam was united in marriage to Mike Karge at First Lutheran of Glenville. Together the couple moved to Owatonna, and had two sons, Bradley and Matthew. A proud and doting mother, Pam raised her sons as a single mother following her divorce in 2001.

Pam was a very gentle woman that cared about treating everyone fairly and was always ready to put others first. She was a longtime member of the Owatonna Singles Club, especially enjoying their dances and activities. A woman of faith, Pam was the baptismal sponsor for two of her nephews, Ethan and Tanner Green, and was a calming presence to many. She found great joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Pam's memory include her sons, Bradley (Jessica) and Matthew Karge; grandchildren, Meghan, Oakley, Hunter, and Graham; mother, Patricia (Roger) Bekaert; sisters, Sharon O'Bryne and Kristin (Ryan) Green; four nephews, Mike and Josh O'Bryne and Ethan and Tanner Green; and several extended family members and friends.

In addition to her father, Loren Bangert, Pam was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Bangert; and many other family members.

Services for Pam will be held privately.

Bless be her memory.
