Nancy Jeanne Nimz, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023 under the care of hospice at her daughter’s home, at the age of 81.

She was born on May 15, 1942 to Glen and Lois (Jasperson) Adams, and her vibrant spirit touched the lives of all those around her.  Nancy grew up as an only child, shaping her into a strong and independent woman. In her professional life, she dedicated herself to caring for others. She worked as a nurse’s aide and dietary aide at Good Samaritan Society, Land O Lakes, Lea Foods, and Walmart. Her compassionate nature and tireless dedication made a lasting impact on the lives of those around her.  Although Nancy did not graduate from high school, she was determined to achieve her GED and worked hard to obtain it later in life. Her perseverance and tenacity inspired all who knew her.

Nancy was married to Joe Talamantes, with whom she had two children, Josue and Scott. Later, she married Gerald Nimz in Sioux Falls, SD, and together they welcomed two more children into their family, Cindy and Tim. Nancy cherished her role as a mother and devoted herself to nurturing and supporting her children.

Nancy had a deep love for gardening and canning. She found joy in nurturing her plants and preserving the fruits of her labor to share with loved ones. Her backyard was adorned with bird feeders, and she took immense pleasure in watching the colorful birds that visited. Nancy also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting various items, and passing on her crocheting skills to her daughter Cindy.  She adored her two little dogs, Patches and Cubby Bear; they brightened her days with their playful antics and unwavering loyalty.  One of Nancy's unique interests was her fascination with dinosaurs. She had an impressive knowledge about these magnificent creatures, which she enthusiastically shared with family and friends.

Family was of utmost importance to Nancy, and she embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories with her loved ones. Her unwavering love and support will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Josue Talamates, Scott Talamantes, Cindy Nimz, and Tim Nimz; grandchildren, Joey (Amy) Talamantes, Stephanie (Darrin) Talamantes, Ryan Talamantes, Nicole Talamantes, Sammuel Talamantes, Alisha (Darrin) Moody, Jorden Nimz, and Nicholas Nimz; great grandchildren, Trey, Caleb, Lily, Rowan, Serena, Ryker, Wyatt, Jacob, and Savannah; one great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews, along with her special pups, Patches and Cubby Bear.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several sisters and brothers-in-law.

A private memorial celebration will be held at a later date and she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Gerald, at Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea, MN.

Nancy’s family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care along with the staff at Bonnerup Funeral Services.
