Nancy Joanne Jenson, 82, passed away on the morning of Saturday, May 2, 2026, with her family by her side.
Nancy was born on April 6,1944 to Stanley and Cecelia Evelyn (Kortz) Hall in Albert Lea. After graduating from Albert Lea High School she attended Mankato State University where she met the love of her life. Nancy and Richard T. Jenson were united in marriage on September 3, 1966 and were happily married for 60 years. She worked civil service for the state of Minnesota for 4 years as a social worker in Freeborn County. That employment ended so she could raise her three sons Richard, Matthew, and Nathan. She was actively involved in numerous organizations. She taught Sunday School and Confirmation at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea MN for many years. She served as First Lutheran Women's President, she was President of the DOES, and division chair of civic music. She started a red hat group "Ladies of the Lake" and was elected queen. She served as district commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America and was extremely proud that all 3 of her sons were Eagle Scouts. Nancy loved to travel and went to many of the World's Fairs with her family. She also took a once in a lifetime trip to Switzerland with her friend Linda Willette. She loved reading and was a member of many book clubs. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her 3 grandchildren Christian, Emma, and Jacob.
Survivors include her husband Richard; sons Matthew Jenson, and Nathan (Cassie) Jenson; grandchildren Christian, Emma, and Jacob Jenson; sisters, Patricia (Gregory) Madrigal, Kristine (Dennis) Erb, and Constance (Gerald) Anfinson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nancy was preceded in death by her eldest son Richard "Rick" Jenson, her parents, and her brothers Keith David (in infancy), Michael, Thom, and Terry Hall, in-laws Elmer and Anna Jenson, and Aunt Joy White.
Nancy was known for her intelligence, perception, generosity, and kindness. Blessed be her life and memory. She will be missed dearly.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Service, 2210 East Main Street, Albert Lea 56007, on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 2 to 4 PM.
