Michael Martinez

Michael “Mike” Martinez, 48, of Albert Lea, formerly of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Born on October 8, 1974, in Corpus Christi, TX, he was a son of the late Filiberto and Gloria (Lopez) Martinez. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX, Mike relocated to Albert Lea in June of 2022. Known for his strong work ethic and craftmanship, Mike worked as a contractor alongside his uncle to restore and renovate homes and could often be found in the garage tinkering and fixing up cars.

An avid outdoorsman, Mike enjoyed fishing and archery, especially his trips to Colorado to bow hunt for elk. Mike was genuine and kind-hearted. He found the most joy in spending time with friends and going out to eat. Mike will be remembered for his passion for adventure and creativity.

Left to cherish Mike’s memory are his lifelong friend, Jesus Martinez; two daughters, Lisa Canales and Stephanie Gloria Martinez; a niece, Rose Martinez; his extended family; and many friends. In addition to his parents, Filberto and Gloria, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Martinez.

Services for Michael will be held in Corpus Christi, TX at the convenience of his family.
