Mary Becker

d. April 27, 2019

Private family services for Mary Ann Becker, 85, were held at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Interment at St. Theodore Cemetery, Albert Lea. Mary Ann always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Open House gatherings were held on the previous three weekends, allowing everyone to re-connect, and giving her the time that she so very much loved. Mary Ann went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 27th, at St John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. She was born in Kasota, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Etta (McFadden) Flowers. Mary Ann has worked in every position in her husband’s trucking business, Becker Hi-Way Frate, with the exception of Driving. Mary Ann was always the happiest while working at her husband’s side. They traveled Coast to Coast in his Antique Mack Truck, pulling a 5th wheel trailer. Mary’s home was always open to all, whether family, friends, cousins or neighbors. She was always concerned for others and felt she needed to take care of and love all who entered the Becker home. She knitted scarves and mittens for Veteran’s, made beautiful tablecloths for fund raisers and benefits; while also winning many blue ribbons for her crocheting. Mary was strong in her faith and was a faithful member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Joe, her children: Joseph (Sandy) Becker, Catherine (Terry) Sippel, and Richard Becker; daughters-in-law Delores Becker, JoAnn Becker; grandson Jason Becker (Kim); sister Ina Mae Fischer, brother David (LaDona) Flowers; brothers-in-law Phillip Borgmeier (Linda), Kenneth Becker and Dale Hennek, sisters-in-law Janet Hanf and Iva Lou Becker; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Etta Flowers, her son Thomas Becker, her siblings: Howard Flowers and his wife Lorraine, Pauline Graham and her husband James, Francis Flowers and his wife Lucile, Charles Flowers Jr. (sister-in-law) Grace Flowers, Richard Flowers and his wife Kaye, Margie Borgmeier, father-in-law and mother-in-law Ambrose and Alma Becker; brothers-in-law Frank Fischer and Harold Becker, sisters-in-law Mildred Becker, Victorine Traynor and her husband Robert, Lucille Becker, and Veronica Hennek.
