Marlene Skophammer

Marlene Susan Skophammer died December 10, 2018 at the Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tekamah, Nebraska. She was 85. Marlene was born to Faylon and Pearl Faltys on December 24, 1932 in West Point, NE. Marlene grew up in West Point, Stockton, CA, Fremont, Omaha, and Tekamah. The family moved to Tekamah after her freshman year. Marlene graduated from Tekamah High School in 1950 and got her first job at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha. This work carried through with her most of her life as she worked for several insurance companies as a certified Insurance Underwriter. On August 14, 1954, Marlene was married to Paul Michael Skophammer in Orange County, CA and they were married 64 wonderful years. Mike and Marlene lived their early married lives in Santa Clarita, CA and raised 5 active sons. Upon retirement in 1993, Mike and Marlene moved to Albert lea, Minnesota and bought a farm. In 2001, they moved to Tekamah where they enjoyed Husker Football, worldwide travel and multiple sporting events. Marlene always thought her greatest accomplishment in life was raising 5 wonderful sons. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Faylon Faltys and Pearl “Peg” Triplett; step-father, Harold “Jack” Triplett; brothers, Joseph Faltys, Robert Faltys and Gary Triplett. Survivors include her husband, Paul; 5 sons, Richard (Robin) of Rolling Hills Estates, CA, David of Tekamah, Paul (Jennifer) Malibu, CA, Robert of Cheyenne, WY, Joseph (Astrid) of Palmdale, CA and 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Lauren, Dane, Stephanie, Nicholas, David, Alyssa, and Karina; siblings, Allen (Connie) of Omaha, Laura (Pete) of San Clemente, CA, Sharon (Chickie) Willis of Surprise, AZ; sisters in-law, Ellie (Joe) Faltys of Anderson, CA and Gini (Bob) Faltys of Maumee, OH. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
