Obituary: Marjorie G. Jensen



The funeral service for Marjorie G. Jensen of 801 Luther Place, Albert Lea, Minnesota will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Pastor Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.



Marjorie died Sunday October 24, 2004 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 91 years old.



Marjorie was born July 25, 1913 at Hanlontown, Iowa to Gilbert and Minnie (Quist) Kaasa. She has resided at Kennedy, Minnesota, Hayward, Minnesota, Conger, Minnesota and Albert Lea, Minnesota. Marjorie is a 1932 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She married Fred Jensen on July 14, 1934 in Albert Lea. Marjorie was a former member St. Paul?s Lutheran Church of Conger and presently member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was active in the Conger community, Conger church and the Conger Ladies Park Auxiliary. Marjorie worked for the Rainbow CafAsh of Hayward, Minnesota, owned and operated the Conger CafAsh from 1966-1975 and worked as a janitor for Ver-Dik of Conger. Marjorie enjoyed crocheting, watching baseball, baking, playing cards, 500 and solitaire.



Marjorie is survived by her son: Myron ?Mike? Jensen and his wife Marlys of Albert Lea, Minnesota, son-in-law: Richard Doppelhammer of Albert Lea, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Lori Meyer and her husband Paul of Conger, Minnesota, Lynn Spicer and her husband Craig of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Lisa Erickson and her husband Perry of Emmons, Minnesota and John Doppelhammer and his wife Annette of Albert Lea, Minnesota; nine great grandchildren: Nathan Westland, Sara Westland, Alicia Anderson and her husband Greg, Amanda Hoffman, Andrea Hoffman, Jessica Jacobsen, Jon Erickson, Barbara Erickson and Jack Doppelhammer; brother: Melvin Kaasa and his wife Dorothy of Mankato, Minnesota; sister: Helen Kaisersatt of St. Peter, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.



Marjorie was preceded in death by parents; husband Fred in 1991, daughter: Barb Doppelhammer; brothers: Kenneth, Gordon, Orton, and Robert Kaasa; sister Ada Westland.
