The funeral service for Margaret Jean Hamor of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the United Methodist Church, Geneva, MN. Pastor Gary Liker will officiate. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Ellendale, MN.
Margaret died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 80 years of age.
Margaret was born in Bath Township, MN on December 16, 1924, the daughter of Harold G. and Cleora (Rasmussen) Lawson. She attended country school District 20. She lived in Freeborn County most of her life. She was married to Gilbert Lawson on September 20, 1944 in rural Ellendale, MN. Margaret was a member of United Methodist Church in Geneva, MN. Margaret and her husband farmed outside of Geneva for many years. She also was a housekeeper in private homes and worked at Johnson?s Laundry in Albert Lea.
Margaret was a member of the Moose Lodge and Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting, doing embroidery work, crafts, making calendars, genealogy, camping and fishing.
Margaret is survived by one brother: Lowell Lawson of Myrtle, MN, Sisters-in-law: Bueta Thompson of Blooming Prairie, MN, Nellie (James) Sorenson of Wadena, MN; nieces and nephews: Carolyn (Marlin) Anderson of Clear Lake, IA, James Hamor of Ellendale, MN, Kevin Hamor of Ellendale, MN, LuVerne Hamor of Ellendale, MN; and many other nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert; sister: Helen Hamor and husband (Jerald), Sister-in-law: Ruth Lawson, Brothers-in-law: Roger Hamor, Albert Sweazey, Nathan Finn and Charles Thompson; nieces: Linda Hamor, Carol Hamor and Catherine Hamor.
