LouAnn (Rudolph) Stoen, passed away at the age of 73, at her home in Albert Lea, Minnesota, on October 5, 2026, with her son by her side.
LouAnn was born on August 24, 1953, in Albert Lea, to Arthur and Helen (Skochenski) Rudolph. She was the third of six children and was lovingly raised in a close-knit family. On September 14, 2001, she married James “Jim” Stoen at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church. LouAnn will be remembered for a life defined by faith, service, and care for others.
A graduate of Albert Lea High School, LouAnn earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Riverland College in Austin, Minnesota. She devoted nearly four decades to caring for others as a registered nurse in the community. Throughout her career, she worked in many areas, always willing to step in wherever she was needed. She took great pride in her work and found deep meaning in helping others. She formed many lasting friendships with colleagues and became a valued member of the local medical community.
LouAnn’s kindness and generosity touched all aspects of her life. A meticulous planner, she was always thinking ahead and finding ways to help her family and friends through life’s important moments. She loved nature, watching birds at her feeders and tending her colorful yard. She had a special fondness for cats, often sending cute cat photos to family and caring for neighborhood cats, even building warm shelters for them during the winter.
Her faith was an important part of her life. She cherished time with the St. Theodore’s Catholic Church prayer group and her Bible study group. She also enjoyed reading, music,, shopping, and thrifting. LouAnn loved traveling throughout the United States and abroad and looked forward to doing more in retirement. She was a proud member of the American Nurses Association and Minnesota Nurses Association.
LouAnn will be remembered by her children Jade (Jerry) Havermann, and Dustin Bjornson; her grandchildren Anna Havermann and Jaqqi Havermann; her siblings Tom Rudolph, Barbara Rudolph, Dean Rudolph, Dale (Bev) Rudolph and MaryJo Goodman; her step-children and step-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen Rudolph; her husband, “Jim” Stoen; her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, beginning at 10 AM at St. Theodore Catholic Church, 315 East Clark Street, Albert Lea, 56007. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11 AM. LouAnn will be inurned at St. Theodore's Catholic Cemetery.
