Lori Lobb, 70, a lifelong resident of Albert Lea, passed away on November 9, 2023, at Mayo Clinic- Albert Lea Hospital.
Born on August 1, 1953, in Albert Lea, she was a daughter of the late Leland and Betty (Peterson) Abben. Lori had an infectious spirit, always finding a reason to smile, and touched the lives of those around her in countless ways.
After graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1971, Lori embarked on a journey filled with love and adventure. On February 29, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada, she married Michael Lobb. Together, they created a bond that endured through the years, cherishing each other's company and creating a home filled with warmth and laughter.
Lori had an exceptional talent for sewing and often delighted her younger self by creating her own clothing. She had an eye for detail and a natural flair, resulting in beautiful and unique garments. Her skills as a seamstress exemplified her creative spirit and passion for self-expression.
A woman with a heart of gold, Lori had a great sense of humor that could light up any room. Her contagious laughter brought joy to those fortunate enough to be in her presence. Music was also a significant part of her life. Lori had a natural aptitude for playing various instruments, including the piano, viola, and guitar. She was a self-taught musician who found solace and expression through her melodies. Attending concerts was one of her favorite pastimes, immersing herself in the magic of live performances and connecting with the music on a deeper level.
When she wasn't engrossed in her creative pursuits or enjoying her musical talents, Lori found solace in nature. She relished in the simplicity of fishing trips and camping adventures, embracing the serene outdoors and creating lasting memories with her loved ones. Lori also had a passion for reading, often getting lost in the pages of thrilling novels that took her on imaginative journeys.
Above all, Lori was a proud mother. Her son, Jonathan, was the light of her life. She showered him with unconditional love, guidance, and unwavering support throughout his life. Her nurturing nature, patience, and utmost dedication to her role as a mother showcased the depth of her love.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Joy Knoppel officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery.
In addition to her husband, Michael, those left to cherish Lori’s memory are her son, Jonathan Beighley; siblings, Barbara (Wayne) Morfitt, Christine Schmidt, Garry Abben, and Jane (Mick) Beighley; numerous nieces and nephews; her extended family; and countless friends.
