Lloyd Van Guilder passed away on May 5, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society, Albert Lea. He was 73 years old.
Lloyd Patrick Van Guilder was born on July 28, 1942 to Lloyd Sr. and Katherine (Christenson) in Albert Lea, MN. He attended Albert Lea Schools. He entered into the United States Navy at an early age, and served for two years. On March 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Diane (Wilson). To this union, three children were born.
Lloyd was employed at Wilson Foods which later became Farmstead. He later took a job with Ventura Foods, where he retired. Lloyd was a member of the VFW and Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed bass fishing, and raising and training homing pigeons in his earlier years. Lloyd enjoyed tinkering with everything, and he could fix anything that was put in front of him.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Van Guilder; children, Tami Jacobson Gunn and significant other Ross, Lori (Craig) Bailey, and Karri Christenson and significant other, Paul; grandchildren, Jeremy (Karen) Stanek, Brooke Jacobson and significant other, Souk, Matthew (Molly) Jacobson, Amanda (Russ) Seefeldt, Garrett Christenson, Taylor Gunn, and Jorden Gunn; great-grandchildren, Tiera, Taya, Dylan, Hailey, Paige, Pierce, and Linsey; a brother, Lee (Jean) Van Guilder; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Sr. and Katherine; a sister, Kay Thompson; and a brother, David Van Guilder.
