Linda Stigney

Linda May Stigney, 75, of Albert Lea, MN passed away at her home surrounded by family on February 26th, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer and heart/kidney disease.

Linda was born and raised in Austin, MN to parents Herta and Donald Stigney. She was married to Robert Lamaack, Sr from March 23rd, 1967, to February 26th, 1985. They had 6 children together. She was a loving mother. Linda then spent the rest of her life with partner Ron for 27 years. She attended school through 9th grade, went on to get her GED and later attended college classes.

She enjoyed working numerous jobs over the years where she cared for others. She enjoyed volunteering throughout her life in many places, a few of them being Boy Scouts, 4-H, Awana, Special Olympics, United Way, and the ARC.

She loved camping, fishing, playing games, watching movies with her grandchildren and singing karaoke with her fiancé. She valued spending time with family and friends (especially grandchildren and great grandchildren), going to and hosting rummage sales, and crafting. She enjoyed spending her time going to the Next Step Club House with her fiancé. She had many close friends she made through the club. Joking around and playing pranks were things she loved doing to get to hear her loved ones laugh. Linda made many great friends during her life. Her heart was full of compassion and empathy. Helping others and being a shoulder for people to lean on was very fulfilling to her.

She is survived by her fiancé Ronald Luecht, children Cheryl Luecht, Charles Hedderich, Bobbie Lamaack (Jeremy), Robert Lamaack Jr, Jennifer Hanna (Doug), Amanda Somnis (Mike) and siblings David Stigney (Cheryl), Connie Wachlin, Thomas Stigney (Eila), Mira Romero, Terry Lamaack (Richard), as well as 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Herta, siblings Gloria and Donald Jr, ex-husband Robert Sr, brother-in-laws William and Deverne, niece Melissa, Nephew Rodney Jr, great niece Rebecca and best friend Richard.

A Celebration of Life and viewing will be held at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 11am-1:30pm. Interment to follow at 2:00pm at Grandview Cemetery in Austin, MN.
