Linda Mae Flaten

Linda Mae (Pogones) Flaten, 73, passed away April 6, 2026 at Prairie Manor Hospice in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.

Linda was born on May 9, 1952 in Owatonna, MN. She was the oldest of seven children of Lovirn and Betty (Meixner) Pogones. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1970.

Linda married Melvin Flaten in 1983. They made their home in Faribault, MN. After Melvin's death in 1991, Linda moved back to Blooming Prairie. She had been living at Heather Haus Assisted Living until a recent fall.

Her joy was writing letters to pen-pals and family members, and socializing with her neighbors in Heather Haus, doing puzzles and she really enjoyed watching TV. Her favorites, Dr. Oz, John Wayne movies and Dean Martin music and movies.

Linda is survived by Joanne (Jim) Misgen, Connie (Jerry) Mayzlik, Terry (Joe) Wondra, Mark (Brenda) Pogones, Peggy (David) Larkin and brother-in-law Russ Briggs. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, her bestie Marjorie and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Diane Briggs.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 16 at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Ellendale, 308 7th Avenue, Ellendale, MN 56026, beginning at 2 PM. A visitation will take place one hour prior, beginning at 1 PM. Linda will be interred on a later date, with a private family ceremony.

She will live on in our memories reminding us what it means to love each other. To share kindness, and make people laugh, no matter the hardships we face. To trust each other and the Lord throughout life.
