LaVonne Brevig

LaVonne "Bonnie" Brevig, age 70, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, on her 52nd wedding anniversary at home surrounded by her family. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 PM on Saturday, July 18 at Bonnerup Funeral Home.

LaVonne was born in Albert Lea, MN on October 5,1955 to Herbert and Janice (Carlson) Reyerson. She grew up in Gordonsville, MN and graduated from Glenville High School in 1974. On July 14, 1974, she was united in marriage to Garry Brevig at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett, Iowa. The couple had four daughters, and the family made their home in Gordonsville. LaVonne worked Fieldstone Cabinetry in Northwood, Iowa and later in the Emergency Registration Department at the Mayo Clinic in Albert Lea. She retired in 2021 and continued to live in Gordonsville until the time of her death.

LaVonne enjoyed home renovations. She often had a honey-do list of things to do around the house. She loved dogs and cats. In her free time liked reading, painting, gardening and quilting. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

LaVonne is survived by her husband of 52 years, Garry; daughters, Christine (John) Basol, Jennifer (Kevin) Johnson, Kathlene (Steve) Tiegs, Sara (Nate) Trebil; Grandkids, Ella, Hunter, Parker, Walker, Tristin, Kamrin, Saylor; siblings; Linda (Troy) Lowe, LuAnn (Jerry) Mason, Kevin (Lori) Reyerson, Gary (Ellen) Reyerson, Sandy (Scott) Stucky, Greg (Suzie) Reyerson, Karen (Craig) Mowers; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Janice Reyerson; grandparents, Everett and Isol Carlson.
