Julie Ann Smith, age 77, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 13 at Bonnerup Funeral Home. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.

Julie Smith was born January 27, 1949 to Wilfred and Viola (Thompson) Brenegan in Albert Lea Minnesota. She grew up in Albert Lea and graduate from Albert Lea High School in 1967. After her schooling, she began working at Ventura Foods. She worked there for 45 years before retiring. After her retirement, she continued to live in Albert Lea until the time of her death.

In her free time, Julie enjoyed cleaning her house and traveling. She enjoyed several trips to Las Vegas with her family.

Julie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Kuethe (Zack Jensen); grandchildren, Katelyn Smith (Cody Knudsen), Trevor Kuethe, Alex Kuethe; great grandchild, Markie Knudsen; siblings, Rita Brenegan, Gene (Bonna) Brenegan, Mark Brenegan; nephews, Jason Brenegan; Timothy John Brenegan; nieces, Marcie Gaylor, Katie Erickson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Carolyn Brenegan.
