Joshua Petersen

Joshua Robert Petersen, 45, a cherished Father, Son, and Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on September 24, 2025.

Born on May 7, 1980, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, he was the beloved son of David and Shari Petersen. Josh was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Wells, MN and graduated from Alden High School in 1998. During his high school years, he was passionate about football, wrestling, and karate. Josh went on to attend Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Jackson, MN, where he received his plumbing degree.

Throughout his life, Joshua embraced many interests and passions. He enjoyed cooking and hunting, and had a deep love for animals, and was the proud owner of an iguana, a snake, and dogs. A dedicated worker, Joshua ran his own business specializing in refinishing tubs and kitchens. His hard work and determination will always be remembered.

Joshua is survived by his daughter, Ashlyn Petersen; his parents, David and Shari Petersen; brothers, Jason (Kristin) and William (Angie) Petersen; nieces and nephews, Holden, Haylyn, June, Jerry, Chip and Gus.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services in Albert Lea. The family will receive friends at a visitation beginning at 12:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
