John Alan Flategraff

John Alan Flategraff, age 70, went to be with our Lord and Savior July 12, 2026. Survived by wife Tami (Vidmar), Daughters Amber Flategraff and Ashley Fisher, Son Adam Flategraff, 8 Grandchildren Dakota, Dominic, Jayden, Ahvah, Eben, Grant, Gavyn & Rylah. Siblings Terry Flategraff, Randy Burg, Jim Burg, Cheryl Langfus, Nancy Scholta. Cousins Tom Johnson, Lori Astleford, Renee Bechtold, Wendy Deatherage and many Nieces and Nephews whom he loved. Preceded in Death by Father Oscar Flategraff and Mother Donna Burg, Special Aunt Faye Johnson and Uncle Jack Johnson.

John was proud of his 18 years of service with the Savage Fire Department where he held the rank of Captain. Many times, Tami and the kids were stranded as the pager went off and John was gone. But they were so proud of him they never complained. John was also a proud active member of the Albert Lea Eagle’s Club FOE #2258 where he was serving as Trustee and a member of the Ritual Team. “The Table” will never be the same without John. John’s personality, smile and laugh will never be forgotten. The Family says they never met a person who didn’t instantly love John. His quick wit and humor will be missed by all who knew him.

John loved to drive which he made a career of with 24 years with Allen’s Services/Tow & Travel and currently 7 years at Crossroads Trailers where he was anxiously waiting to get back to work. Unfortunately, God had another plan. Diagnosed with Nasal Carcinoma in November 2025 the first round of chemo wiped out his immune system and a simple cold turned into pneumonia in February. John was airlifted to Rochester ICU after 28 days he was sent home on oxygen and it was advised to resume 2nd round of a lighter chemo once a week and radiation 5 times a week. 3 ½ weeks into the 7 week program pneumonia again reared its ugly head. Another airflight to Rochester Mayo ICU where he spent 21 days fighting his ass off with Tami by his side the entire time. He peacefully left this earth with wife Tami, Daughter Amber and Son Adam by his side.
