Joey Thomas

Joey Lynne Thomas passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Oak Park Place, Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was 78 years old.
Joey Lynne (Dora) was born on October 2, 1937 to Joseph and Rena (Zucco) Dora in Globe, AZ. She was raised in Globe, AZ where she attended and graduated high school. She later went on to attend the University of Arizona where she obtained her Master's Degree in Education. She taught 1st grade for a number of years.
On December 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Rowland Lloyd Thomas in Globe, AZ. To this union, two children were born. The family made their home in Arizona, and in later years, eventually moved to Albert Lea, MN to be closer to their children. Joey was an avid golfer, and was a member of Prescott, AZ Golf and Country Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rena; a son, John Gregory Thomas; and a sister, Shirley (Ted) Day.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lloyd Thomas of Albert Lea; a son, Cory (Johanna) Thomas, of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Kelsey, E.J., and Andy; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
