Joan Ellen Anderson

Joan Ellen Anderson, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 21, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 31, 2026 at the Edgewater Cottage in Albert Lea, MN.

She was born on July 31, 1947 in Hudson, SD to Arnold and Ellen Helgerson. Joan married Dennis Anderson on November 18, 1967 and spent 45 wonderful years together.

Joan enjoyed spending time with her children, grandkids and great grandkids. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. Her family especially loved her homemade fudge frosting that she would make whenever anyone would ask. Everything Joan made was made with love, butter, and sugar. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and their dog, Angel, in their motorhome and would spend summertime camping with family. She took pride in her work and won the White Glove Award while working at Kwik Trip, where she would also train the new managers.

She is survived by her daughter Cammi (Steve Allison) Anderson; daughter-in-law Sara Anderson; brothers Ronald (Barb) Anderson, Wayne (Carol) Helgerson, and Arnold Jr. "Punk" (Robin) Helgerson; granddaughters Season Anderson, Alexis (Justin) Simmons, Lark Anderson, and Jacey Anderson; grandson Jayme "JD" Anderson; great-granddaughters Journey Thompson, Esabella Bueno-Anderson, Kaylynn Simmons, and Layna Simmons; great-grandsons Jayce Simmons, Justice Lira, and Esmael Bueno-Anderson; along with many nephews, nieces, and extended family members. Joan had a big family and loved each one very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Ellen Helgerson; her beloved husband Dennis Anderson and their dog Angel; son Jamey Anderson; sisters JoAnn Goskeson and Cynthia "Sis" Larsen; brother-in-law Jon Goskeson; nephew Dusty Helgerson; great-nephew Kameron Larsen.
