Jimmy Gonzales

James “Jimmy” Gonzales, age 82, passed away in his home Saturday September 19, 2026 in Albert Lea, MN.

He was born on August 6, 1944 to his parents Santiago Hernandez-Gonzales and Rosie Ybarra-Gonzales. He was one of ten siblings. He was married to his first wife Rosa Olivio Gonzales for twenty years and they shared seven children together. In 1983 he married Juanita (Vallejo) Trevino Gonzales and they shared forty-three years of life together, and a step daughter.

In his lifetime Jimmy was a hardworking man. He began working in Elmore Concrete then continued a career working at Streeters and retired forty-five years later. Jimmy was a huge Vikings fan, he also enjoyed watching NASCAR and boxing with his family. Jimmy loved to cook and BBQ, especially when listening to his favorite artist, “The King” Elvis Presley.

Jimmy was a very dedicated to his pets, especially “Baby”! Jimmy was very kind, humorous, and loving man, not a day went by that he wasn’t making someone laugh or expressing his kind soul. Jimmy will be missed by many and will never be forgotten.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Juanita Gonzales; his children Robert Gonzales, Maria Gonzales, Anita Gonzales, Cindy (Cody) Yost, Willie Gonzales, Vickie Gonzales and James Gonzales; and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as his beloved brothers and sisters Ernie (Yolanda) Gonzales, Rosa (Martin) Torrez, Fernando (Brenda) Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales, Juanita (Michael) Rameriz and Judy (Scott) Senholtz, and many nieces and nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Santiago and Rosie Gonzales; his sons baby Jimmy Gonzales and Jesse Gonzales; his first wife Rosa Olivio Gonzales; and his siblings Ricardo (Mary) Gonzales, Josephine Gonzales and Lupe (Scott) Stromberg. 

A visitation will be held at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church, 315 East Clark Street, Albert Lea, 56007, on Monday, September 28 2026 beginning at 10 AM, followed a funeral mass beginning at 12 PM. James will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery following services. A time for fellowship will follow burial.
