Jesus Manuel “Jesse” Gonzales, 61, of Mankato, passed away on April 3, 2026, at the Mayo Clinic- St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, with his family by his side.
Born on July 24, 1964, in Blue Earth, Jesse was a son of Jimmy Gonzales and the late Rosa (Olivo) Gonzales. A 1982 graduate of Albert Lea High School, Jesse went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force, where he instilled values of discipline and service that would guide him throughout his life. His caring nature led him to work with the Red Cross, where he dedicated himself to helping others in need, a reflection of the kindness that defined his spirit.
In his earlier years, Jesse reveled in traveling, camping, and swimming, cherishing the great outdoors and the adventures it offered. He was a talented musician, known for his skill on the guitar and his deep love for rock music, especially Led Zeppelin and AC/DC.
Jesse is survived by one son and a daughter, Kelly (Brett) Stutzman, and their mother, Rebecca Gonzales-Jensen; eight grandchildren, including: Madalynn, Victoria, Charlie, and Greyson; his father, Jimmy (Juanita) Gonzales; siblings, Robert, Victoria, Maria, willie, Anita and James Gonzales, and Cindy Yost; a best friend, Steven Peterson; his girlfriend, Kimberly Perryman-Argiris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Jesse was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Gonzales.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 12:30PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, with Father Kurt Farrell officiating.
