Jeffrey Ulstad

September 11, 1957 — May 17, 2026

Jeffery Owen Ulstad, age 68, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at Methodist Hospital from complications of a stroke.

Jeff was born on September 11, 1957, in Wells, Minnesota, to Armond Ulstad and Carol Stoltz, Ulstad (Peterson). He was a graduate of Albert Lea High School, Class of 1976. After graduation, Jeff worked as a school bus driver until proudly serving his country as a member of the Army National Guard.

Jeff spent most of his adult life as a truck driver both as a route driver and an over the road driver. He dedicated his career to companies such as Wilson Refrigerated Express, Interstate Meats, and Lawrence Transportation, among others. Even after officially retiring from trucking, Jeff continued to stay active and "get his miles in" by delivering Meals on Wheels, driving his firetruck friends to various destinations, and helping his friends Adam and Matt Dresser Holland with their bean and corn operations.

Jeff had a love for sports and the outdoors. He played American Legion baseball for many years and enjoyed snowmobiling and golfing in his spare time. He was a devoted fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings and especially treasured Football Sundays at the Eagles.

A lifelong member of the Albert Lea Eagles Club, Jeff generously gave his time to community events including Cans for Cancer, the annual corn feed, and many other activities whenever he was called upon. Alongside his mother, Carol "Care Bear" Peterson, he was also a founding member of the well-known "Naughty Corner," bringing laughter and camaraderie to all who knew them.

Jeff will be remembered for his sly smile, dry sense of humor, and infectious laughter. He brought joy to countless friends and family members and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a half-brother David Ulstad, aunt and uncle MaryLea and Allen Van Horn, numerous cousins and many dear friends including Jenni Bergeson and Julie Thiele.
