Jeanne M. Hangge, 95, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on February 19, 2026. She entered this world on May 6, 1930 in Austin, MN, born to Delbert and Dorothy Milton. She was baptized and confirmed at Methodist Episcopal Church in Austin, MN and graduated from Austin High School and Austin Jr College. Jeanne married Ray B. Hangge, her high school sweetheart, on July 16, 1950 at Austin Methodist Church and they were recently blessed to celebrate their 75-year anniversary together with their three children and their families.

Jeanne and her husband Ray purchased the Dairy Queen on Broadway in Albert Lea in 1956. They continued to operate the Dairy Queen until 1986 when they sold the business and retired. In retirement she loved traveling with her husband, including five trips to Europe, 15 cruises, and visiting 49 states. They especially enjoyed visiting the National Parks and Monuments in the US and Canada.

Jeanne was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church, first in Austin and then in Albert Lea where she was very active serving on various committees and offices including UMW. She was a life time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Past Matron of Halcyon Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and past member of the Naeve Hospital Auxiliary where she served as a volunteer in the coffee shop for several years.

Jeanne especially enjoyed 65 years of monthly gatherings with her "Gab Club," a group of her Austin High School friends. Her seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren were her pride and joy and she enjoyed following their sports activities and accomplishments throughout the years.

Jeanne was a passionate Minnesota sports fan, especially Minnesota Twins, Vikings, and University of Minnesota Gopher sports teams. She celebrated two World Series victories and was still waiting for a Vikings Super Bowl win at the time of her passing. She was always tech savvy and enjoyed surfing the Internet on her iPad and iPhone and texting her children and grandchildren on a regular basis, especially while watching live sporting events.

She is survived by her husband Ray Hangge; daughter Mary Nelson and her husband Howie of Lakeville; Son Mark Hangge and his wife Nora of Rochester; daughter Marilyn Kiser of West Palm Beach, FL; grandson Bryan Nelson and his wife Sharmi DeSilva of Eden Prairie; granddaughter Kelly Thielen and her husband Brent of Sedona, AZ; grandson Matt Hangge and his wife Kelly, grandson Todd Hangge and his wife Fawn, granddaughter Ann Haase and her husband Paul, all of Rochester; granddaughter Mandy Wagner and her husband Mike of Clarksburg, MD; grandson Tony Kiser and his wife Brittany of West Palm Beach, FL; great grandchildren Camilla and Warren Hangge, Xavier and Lila Nelson, Nash and Adler Haase, Zoey and Violet Wagner, Ryland and Teagan Hangge, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by father Delbert Milton, mother Dorothy Milton, brother Dale Milton, sister Mary Stonestreet, and son-in-law Greg Kiser.

A celebration of life service will be held at a future date.
