James was born on May 31, 1948, in Owatonna, he was a son of the late Jerald and Helen (Lawson) Hamor. James lived a life filled with love, adventure, and resilience. James lived a fulfilling life dedicated to his family and community. He married Linda Madson on March 23, 1974, and together they raised two children, Cheryl and Jeremy, until Linda's passing in 1986. On July 4, 1992, James married Carol Richardson, embracing her two children as his own and expanding his loving family.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, James served his country with honor. He worked for many years at Wilson's in Albert Lea, where he became known for his unwavering loyalty and caring nature. James was a distinctive figure, often recognized by his long beard, which became a part of his identity.
A true outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. He cherished annual camping trips Up North and treasured his time at his camper in Waterville, Minnesota. Known for his love of cats, James shared many a loving moment with his furry companions.
Those left to cherish Jim’s memory include his children, Cheryl (Troy) Wilkie and Jeremy Hamor (Katrina Tillman); stepson, James Carlson; grandchildren, Eathan and Chasten Wilkie, Hunter Salveson, and Bentley Whitmore; sister, Carolyn Anderson, brother, Luverne Hamor; several nieces and nephews, “adopted” family members, and countless friends.
In addition to his parents, Jerald and Helen Hamor, James was preceded in death by two wives, Linda (Madson) Hamor and Carol (Richardson) Hamor; an infant son; stepdaughter, Sherri Carlson; and a brother, Kevin Hamor.
In true James's fashion, there are no goodbyes, just a “see you later” and a reminder to "Take Care."
