A celebration of Heidi Sue Knezevich's life will be held on Wednesday, March 4th, starting with a public visitation from 3 to 6 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 6 PM, at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Service, 2210 East Main Street, Albert Lea, 56007.
Heidi Sue Mulholland was born in Austin Minnesota on February 15th in 1966. She grew up in Elkton with her older brother Mark, and her loving parents, Cecil and Geraldine. When she was young, her family moved to Albert Lea and settled in happily.
When Heidi was in high school, she met her future husband Brian Knezevich. They had their first date on October 30th in 1981, they watched "Saturday The 14th" together, and were completely inseparable from then on.
After high school, Heidi started working for Hershey Roofing as a secretary/office manager. While working there, she continued to study and pursue a new career as a travel agent. Once she completed her schooling, she started working for 4 Seasons Travel, getting to work alongside her mother.
In 1990 she married the love of her life Brian Knezevich in Albert Lea on August 4th, 1990.
Heidi was a woman of many talents. In 1992 she pursued a degree from Riverland Technical College in Austin. In 1993, she earned a degree to become an Electronic Technician, and served as the Student Senate Treasurer while going to school there. With her new degree, she started working in Waseca at EF Johnson, repairing electronics proficiently. In 1996, Heidi and her husband welcomed their daughter Kaitlyn into the world, and Heidi left EF Johnson to take up the career of stay-at-home mom. She was the absolute best mom in the world; Kaitlyn and Dylan had the most caring, loving, devoted, incredible mother anyone could ask for.
Before they were married, Heidi and Brian enjoyed going to concerts together, and Heidi loved off-roading with lots of different vehicles. She liked riding her dirt bike and Quad, riding the 3 wheelers with her husband, and in the wintertime they enjoyed exploring trails on their snowmobiles. Once they had their kids, they moved towards interests they could more easily share with them, but never lost their love for these passions!
She loved to learn through her whole life, and over her years she completed realtor school, training in installing solar panels, and became Trikke instructors with Brian. Later in life, she and her daughter completed culinary training together, specializing in Pastry & Baking. Heidi loved nature, loved going for walks, hikes, bike rides, and Trikke rides whenever possible. She loved to garden, and would decorate the outside of her home every year with beautiful flower arrangements.
She loved arts and crafts of all kinds. She was a fantastic cook, and a wonderful baker her whole life. She shared this love of cooking with her husband and children, and it was often their favorite thing to do together. She had a knack for finding beautiful treasures at garage and estate sales, and her home was lovingly decorated with these items.
More than anything, she loved her family, and spending time with them all. As long as Brian, Heidi, and their children, Kaitlyn and Dylan, were together they were all happy. For most of her life she was a wonderful caretaker to her parents, only stopping when her health demanded it.
In the summer of 2016 she was diagnosed with an aggressive stage 4 breast cancer. She fought hard for a decade and spent every moment she could with her family. Heidi Sue passed away early in the afternoon on February 24th 2026, with her husband and kids by her side.
She is survived by Brian her devoted husband, her two loving children Kaitlyn and Dylan, her loving mother Geraldine, her sweet dog Zoey, and the rest of her family and friends. They will all miss her terribly.
In Heaven she is awaited by her father Cecil, her two dogs Tina and Belle, her two sweet cats, and even more dear family and friends.
Heidi was an angel and it was her time to return to heaven, where she waits for her family to join her in time.
