Funeral services for Grant L. Edwards will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Reverend Mark Niethammer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at a later date.
Grant Lane Edwards was born on October 22, 1963 to Lawrence and Bonnie (Hutchins) Edwards in Albert Lea. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1982. When he was 16, Grant started working for Interstate Meats, and it eventually turned into a career. He stayed with the company through the tranisition to J&B Food Group where he has had a successful career in sales and marketing.
Grant was united in marriage to Beth (Hanna) on February 1, 1997 at the Little Brown Church, in Nashua, IA. To this union, two amazing children were born: Dayna and Zach.
Aside from work, Grant enjoyed many things in life. In his younger years, he liked to spend time outdoors where he would go camping and fishing with his brothers and sister. He liked to hunt, golf, and follow the Minnesota sports teams. Grant was a coach for Knights Baseball, his sons traveling team. Grant was described as hardworking, loyal, and genuine. He treated everyone with the respect that they deserved. He was well loved by his co-workers, clients, friends, and his family. Grant's greatest achievement was being a proud and loving father to his two children.
Grant will be deeply missed by his wife of 18 years, Beth; twin children, Dayna and Zach; mother, Bonnie Edwards; siblings, Garry (Connie) Edwards, Garth (Shelly) Edwards, Garrett Edwards, and Jennifer (Tom) Hess; a mother in-law, Wanda Haugland; brother's in-law, Randy (Geralyn) Hanna, Tim (Kim) Hanna, Paul (Denise) Hanna, and Jay (Mandy) Hanna; as well as many loving special relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; father in-law, Gerrald Hanna; and a step father in-law, Frank Haugland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Colon Cancer Research or Mayo Clinic Health System/ Albert Lea Hospice.
