Gerald Allan Chapman

Gerald Chapman, age 78, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, with his daughter, Sandy by his side. A memorial visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, April 4 at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Services.

Gerald Allen Chapman was born May 25, 1947 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to William and Alice (Anderson) Chapman. He grew up and attended school in Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1966. After his schooling he entered the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. On March 26, 1995, Jerry was united in marriage to Robyn Allord. From this union, one child, Shantel was born. The couple made their home in Albert Lea where Jerry worked as a meat packer for Hormel and a tool salesman at Home Depot. He continued to live in Albert Lea until the time of his death.

Jerry was a proud member of the Albert Lea American Legion Post #56. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, cards, trips to the casino, being read to by Shantel, being in the sunshine and watching westerns. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family who knew him as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Robyn, daughters, Sandy (Mark) Skalicky, and Shantel Chapman; grandchildren: Chris, Corey, Tyler (Annelisses), and Ben Skalicky, Brooklyn Miller, and Arianna Chapman; great granddaughter, Shilo Skalicky; brother, Bob (Lynn) Chapman; brother in law, Vic Avery; nieces, Brenda (Vaughn) Ravlin, Andrea (Brent Warweg) Mereness, and Lisa (Nick) Pederson; and many great nieces/nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Alice Chapman; his sisters, Nancy Arp and Donna Avery; two of his children: Teisha & Travis Chapman; mother in law, Bea Goering; and nephew, Scott Arp.
