Gary Thomas Hafstad

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Thomas Hafstad (74) —a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and proud grandfather.

Gary passed peacefully on May 31st at St Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was surrounded by loved ones.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf T. Hafstad and Marcia C. (Lindgren) Hafstad. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia Hafstad; his sister, Mari K. Hafstad; and his children, Emily (Brian) Peterson, Alison (Josh) Witter, and Philip Hafstad. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren: Natalie Peterson, Nick Peterson, Alaina Peterson, and Thomas Witter, as well as many treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Gary's deep love for the outdoors lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family will be holding a small private service at a later time.
