Gary Bartness

Funeral Services for Gary L. Bartness, of rural New Richland, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday February 22 at Friedrich/Bonnerup Funeral Service in New Richland. The Dr. Rev. Kristen Venne will officiate. Interment will be in Hartland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Gary died at home on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. He was 64. He was born on September 7, 1955, at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea, MN the son of Carroll and Ivadell (Beneke) Bartness. Gary lived and farmed on the home farm all of his life. He also found much joy in classic and muscle cars and had a body shop on the farm. He especially enjoyed hunting, making memorable trips out west and to Alaska Gary is survived by his brother Del (Carol) Bartness of Buffalo Center, IA, nephew Jason Bartness of Titonka, IA, aunts and uncles: Doris and Howard Sigurdson of Albert Lea, Eugene Warke of New Richland, Jeannie Holland of Ellendale, MN, Dode Bartness of Hartland, MN Lavonne Bartness of Faribault and Merle Bartness of Ellendale, as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
