Elaine Schutrop

Elaine L. Schutrop, 74-year-old resident of New Richland, MN passed away June 11, 2021.  A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, June 17 at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, MN.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Elaine was born September 19, 1946 in Thompson, Iowa to Irone and Eunice (Hove) Millang.  She graduated from Freeborn High School with the class of 1964.  Elaine furthered her education at the University of Minnesota, for one year until the tornado of 1967, when she returned home to take care of her parents.  She met the love of her life as he was on leave during the Vietnam War.  Elaine was united in marriage to Larry Schutrop on June 7, 1969 in Bloomington, MN.  She worked as a certified nursing assistant and a physical therapist at the New Richland Care Center for 31 years until her retirement. Elaine loved to read romance books, sew and craft projects, and flower gardening.  She was involved in the New Richland Garden Club and with local blood drives.  When her children were young, she attended the Congregational Church.  Elaine will be remembered for being patient and caring.  She had “angel-like” qualities.

Elaine is survived by her children, Tara (Doug) Eisterhold, Josie (Scott) Corcoran, Jennifer (Jeff) Dahlen, Chad (Monica) Schutrop, Crystal (Christopher) Miller; grandchildren, Ramsey Eisterhold, Shay (Sara Sparks) Eisterhold, Abigail Eisterhold, Emily Eisterhold, Sierra (Cole Juveland) Dahlen, Shelbie Dahlen, Desiree Schutrop, Destiny (David Suess Jr.) Schutrop, Cole Schutrop, Isaiah Schutrop, Percy Schutrop, Jaxon Miller, Hudson Miller, Avery Miller; great-granddaughter, Raegan Juveland; siblings, Debra (Kenney) Boley, Janet (Gary) Korogi, David Millang, Carol Zierke, Orvis (Sue) Millang, Arlowe Haugen, Jerald Millang, and Joanne Hamre.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; nephew, Ethan Millang; brothers, Gene Millang, Jerry Millang; and sister-in-law, Ruth Haugen.
