Funeral services for Elaine E. Knutson of Northwood, Iowa will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, MN. Pastor Kent Otterman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 until 6 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Silver Lake Cemetery.
Elaine died Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Northwood Lutheran Home in Northwood, Iowa. She was 87 years of age.
Elaine was born January 18, 1929 in Northwood, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Clara (Hengested) Egland. She was a graduate of Northwood High School. On May 1, 1949 she was united in marriage to Harold Knutson at the Silver Lake Church.
Elaine was a homemaker and worked with her husband in the Standard Oil Business. She was an active member of the Silver Lake Lutheran Church and in her free time enjoyed making lefse, pontoon boating at Clear Lake Iowa with friends, trips up north to Leech Lake and was a dedicated caregiver to her parents.
Elaine is survived by her husband Harold, sons Robert and his wife Nancy Knutson of Albert Lea, MN, Larry and his wife Sherri Knutson of Glenville, MN, daughter in law Denise Knutson of Emmons, MN, grandchildren Eric Knutson, Nicole Behne, Ben Knutson, Jeremy Knutson, Jaci Koeppen, Kristopher Knutson and Jarrad Knutson. There are 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ronald Knutson and sister Carol Emmons.
