Dorothy Boettcher

Memorial services for Dorothy M. Boettcher of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. Pastor J. Ed Komoszewski will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 until time of service at the chapel. Interment at a later date will be in Graceland Cemetery. Dorothy died Monday, December 31, 2018 at her home in Albert Lea. She was 86 years of age. Dorothy was born April 19, 1932 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Chester and Rena (Rasmusson) Jorgenson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and received her LPN following nurses training. Dorothy was united in marriage to George E. Boettcher in 1948 to which two children were born and they adopted Kevin making it a family of five. Dorothy worked at a variety of jobs, but her love of nursing motivated her to be employed at Fountain Centers, Albert Lea Good Samaritan and St John’s Nursing Home. She enjoyed volunteer work and served on the board for the American Red Cross and volunteered for hospice making lifelong friends. She was an excellent nurse, homemaker, artist, lover of animals and was known for her home made fried donuts. She loved bowling, walks in the woods and spending time with her grandchildren. She was affectionately called “Grandma Great” Dorothy is survived by her children Georgia (John) Komoszewski of Albert Lea, MN, Dana (Joan) Boettcher of Prior Lake, MN, daughter- in- law Cheryl Boettcher of Eagan, MN, grandchildren J. Ed (Shelley) Komoszewski, Brea (Brad) Gabriel, Brandon (Christine) Boettcher, Jim Anthony (Christen) Komoszewski, Travis (Kristen) Boettcher and Tyler Boettcher. Great grandchildren include; Kaia Gabriel, Caden Gabriel, Bryce Boettcher and Ciara Boettcher, Eliana Komoszewski, Katie Komoszewski, Caleb Komoszewski and Emily Komoszewski. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, son Kevin and siblings Bernard Jorgenson, Howard Jorgenson, Gene Jorgenson, Lloyd Jorgenson and sister Helen Allen.
