Funeral Services for Doris A. Lindquist, of Albert Lea, formerly of the Sioux City Iowa area, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 3, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. Father Kurt Farrell will officiate. Interment will be in Red Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Austin, MN. Friends may visit with family one hour before services at the funeral home.
Doris died on her 85th birthday, Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Thorne Crest Senior Living in Albert Lea. She was born on January 30, 1935, in Attleboro, MA the daughter of Joseph and Bessie Gariepy, She graduated from high school and then met and married Dean E. Lindquist who was serving in the US Navy. This union was blessed with daughter Gayle. At the age of 39, Doris returned to school and obtained her LPN certificate. She enjoyed many years of nursing, working for nursing homes, Hospice and Home Health in the Sioux City, Iowa area. They retired to Albert Lea in 1998. She found much joy in spending time with family, reading, and fishing on Lake Vermillion.
Doris will be lovingly missed by her husband Dean, her daughter Gayle (Jim) of Clive, IA, granddaughter Gillian (Erik) Rauglas and their daughters Genevieve and Adeleine of Clovis, NM; sisters-in-law Dorothy Johnson of Milford, IA, Eileen Lindquist of Blooming Prairie, MN , Evie Lindquist of Stewartville, MN and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Betty Smulligan, Mary Donnelly and brother Joe Gariepy.
Doris will be remembered for her strong faith and her amazing and resilient spirit.
