Doris Maxine Beckmann

Doris Maxine Beckmann, age 100, of Waseca County, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on March 29, 2026. She was born on June 12, 1925, in Waseca County, MN, to Clarence H. Fredrickson and Eva R. (Corner) Fredrickson. Doris lived a remarkable life spanning 100 years, 9 months, and 17 days, filled with devotion to family, faith, and simple joys. 

On February 24, 1945, Doris was united in marriage to Herbert Manville Beckmann. Together they built a loving home and shared many cherished years until Herbert’s passing on November 2, 2010.

Doris was blessed with five daughters: Charlene (David) Chevalier of Henderson, MN; Valerie (Randy) Giles of Graceville, MN; Kayla (Burchard) Root of New Richland, MN; Eileen (Clifford) Borchert of Waseca, MN; and Jolene Otterson of Albert Lea, MN.

Doris found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to flowers, cooking meals for her family, reading, watching westerns, and most of all, spending time with those she loved. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting presence of family.

She is lovingly survived by her five daughters; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Eva; her husband, Herbert; her siblings; and her son-in-law, Dean Otterson.

Doris will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and deep love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the lives she touched. She will be dearly missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to Royal Villa in New Richland, MN, where she lived for 22 years.

A visitation will be held at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 203 2nd St NW, New Richland, MN 56072, on Monday, April 6 from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held the following morning at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 203 2nd St NW, New Richland, MN 56072, beginning at 11 AM, a one hour visitation being held prior to services. She will be interred with her husband at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Richland. Blessed be her memory.
