Donna Brua

Memorial Services for Donna Mae Brua of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend John Holt will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Interment will be at a later date in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea. Donna died on Monday, March 18, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. She was 85. She was born on January 5, 1934, in Emmons, Minnesota the daughter of Theodore and Olga (Monson) Haugland. She was united in marriage to Harvey D. Brua on August 12, 1956. They made their home and raised their family in Albert Lea. Donna enjoyed her work at Naeve Hospital in materials management for many years. She was active with the D.O.E.S. Club. Donna enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing and birthday club gatherings. One her greatest joys and many memories came from family time spent at French Lake near Faribault, where they gathered for more than 53 years. Donna will be greatly missed by her husband Harvey, her children: Ted (Jana Lindh) Brua of Hudson, WI, Penny (Louie Jr.) Mortenson of New Richland, MN, Robert (Karen Machin) Brua of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; grandchildren: Rebecca (Josh) Beaudry of Beaver Dam, WI, Joshua Brua of Rochester, MN, Aaron Brua of Clear Lake, FL, Louie Weston (Jessica) Mortenson of Wells, MN, Cody Mortenson of Hartland, MN, Max and Kade Machin-Brua of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; great grandchildren Tanner, Carter, Ryker and Henry; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Charles and Shirley Brua and Francie Petersen, also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Julie Ann, Bernice, and Gladys Steele
