Donald Newell

Donald Bernard Killbourne Newell, age75, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, following a long illness. A memorial service will be held at Vineyard Church in Albert Lea on Friday, July 31 at 10:30 AM . A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Matt Hundley will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.

Donald was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 21, 1951, to Franklin Denison and Nona Mae (Butler) Newell. He grew up and attended school in the Twin Cities. In 1969 he graduated from Benilde High School. After graduating from high school, he attended Saint Thomas University and graduated with an A.S. in Finance. He then wen to work as a banker. After retirement, he lived in Albert Lea until the time of his death.

In his free time, Donald enjoyed playing his drums and one of his three guitars.

Donald is survived his siblings and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
