Obituary: Delbert Lewis Hunt

The funeral service for Delbert Lewis Hunt of Hayward , Minnesota will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2009 at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, Albert Lea , Minnesota . Pastor Larry Day will officiate. Interment will be in East Freeborn Lutheran Church Cemetery . Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.

Delbert died Monday, January 12, 2009, at the Veterans Hospital , Minneapolis , Minnesota . He was 78 years old.

Delbert was born May, 31, 1930 at Union , Iowa to Charles D. and Ruth C. (Mitchell) Hunt. He graduated from Alden High School at Alden , Iowa . Delbert was a career veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He has been a Freeborn County , resident since 1994. Delbert married Eloise Dolph on November 5, 1999 at Mason City , Iowa .

He was Postmaster at Universal City , Texas . Delbert was a supervisor for Wynn’s Distributing of San Antonio, Texas. He belonged to the American Legion in Texas and Albert Lea. Delbert enjoyed collecting cars and trucks. He especially enjoyed his pet

Chihuahua Snow Flake.

Delbert is survived by his wife Eloise Hunt of Hayward , Minnesota ; children: Beverly Jean Burrows of Universal City, Texas, Debra Susan ( Everett ) Gardner of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Shirley Marie (Richard) Springsteel of Clarks Grove, Minnesota, Kitty Christine Hunt of Columbus , Ohio , Donna Lou ( Preston ) Leslie of Georgetown, Texas,

Darling Louise Hunt of Arkansas, Jason J. Jordee of Bloomington , Illinois, Jolene J. Jordee of Albert Lea, Minnesota and Julien J. Jordee of Hayward, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brother: Russell (Judy) Hunt; sisters: Lola (Wally) Last, Luella Maine, Mavis Day, Lola (Bob) Tolckson, Luella Maine; sister-in-law: Betty Jean Hunt.

Delbert is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ruth Hunt; first wife: Ruth Irene and second wife: Juldia Frances; brothers: James and Nathan Hunt; two grandsons: Kevin and Alan; 1 great grand daughter: Emily Rose.

Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to the heart fund or Albert Lea American Legion.
