Dallas was born on July 4th, 1947, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He was the second of four children to parents Lorenz Svendsen and Violet (Anderson). Dallas lived most of his life in Albert Lea as a cement mason and had a strong passion for standardbred horses. He worked alongside his father and siblings in the family racing stable and was a harness driver in his younger years. He loved to watch his family race/train and took great joy in their successes.
Dallas was also a big Minnesota sports fan, especially of the Minnesota Vikings. Although they let him down year after year, he never missed a game. He was an animal lover and always had a furry companion with him at his home. He had a great sense of humor and always knew how to make you laugh. He always had a cold Busch Light waiting for a friend.
Dallas is survived by his two children Steven Svendsen (Jolene) and Amber Larsen (Tucker), grandchildren Josh Svendsen (Olivia), Shea Svendsen, and Tyler Voshell, and a great grandson, Wells Svendsen. He is also survived by his sister Goldie Svendsen (Bob), brother LeMoyne Svendsen (Jodi), and nephew Chad Svendsen (Kelly). He leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends that were like family to him.
Dallas was preceded in death by his father Lorenz Svendsen, mother, Violet Svendsen, and sister Virginia Johnson (Duane).
