Constance Kay “Connie” Billat, 80, of Albert Lea, MN, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at the Mayo Clinic-St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00OPM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services in Albert Lea, with a visitation beginning at 1:00PM. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Connie was born on July 3, 1946, in Albert Lea, Minnesota to the late, Roy and Bernice (Hillman) Stevens.
From an early age, Connie was known for her strong moral character and her willingness to help others. She taught Sunday school when her children were young and continued to nurture a faith that would guide her throughout her life. A highlight of her spiritual journey was when she was baptized by her son, Michael. This was a true testament of her faith and the love she had for her LORD.
Connie also enjoyed morning coffee with her son, Joey, and spending a lot of time with her daughter-in-law, Dionne, through the many doctor’s appointments, shopping trips and various other little adventures they shared. Her grandchildren, Andrew and Katelyn, held a very special place in her heart, and she held a very special place in their hearts as well. They would often call her up just to say “hi” and to see how grandma was doing.
Connie was not only a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, but was also a woman of many talents. Alongside her father and brothers, she would lend her skills and creativity by helping them flip and renovate houses. She loved coloring books, word searches, knitting, and diamond art. She started every day by reading her Bible and doing her devotionals. Connie was also an avid baker in her early years and enjoyed making all kinds of goodies, but she was particularly known for her famous klubb.
For many years, she worked as a home health aide with Crest Services. Connie was a friend to everyone and loved to visit with whoever crossed her path. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her kindness, compassion, and love for others was beyond compare, and she will be deeply missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her.
Those left to cherish Connie’s memory include her two sons, Joey (Renee) and Michael (Dionne) Billat; grandchildren, Andrew and Katelyn Billat; siblings, Dwight (Mary) Stevens, Vicky (John) Mann; David (Cathy) Stevens, Paul (Patricia) Stevens, and Scott Stevens; several nieces and nephews; her beloved cat and loyal companion Leo; and her caretaker, whom she loved like a daughter, Bronte Jeffers.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Leon Billat.
