Charlotte Olson

Charlotte Maurine (Marpe) Olson of Mansfield, was born March 21, 1929 in Alden Township to Fred Marpe and Edith (Meyer). She was 94 years old when she died peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 17, 2023.

Charlotte grew up in Mansfield and attended Kiester High School where she graduated in 1947. While attending high school, she worked at the town grocery store where she met her husband Lawrence Eugene Olson of Albert Lea, 80 years ago. The two were united in marriage June 3rd, 1950 at Mansfield Lutheran Church. The two were blessed with one son, Leslie in 1955. Charlotte then worked as the head teller at First National Bank for many years and retired from there when she was 55.

Charlotte enjoyed baking, gardening, and making new adventures with her husband. They loved to travel, ride motorcycles and snowmobiles. The couple especially enjoyed going dancing with friends. Charlotte loved flying with her husband, Larry and would often go to flight breakfasts in different towns. Along with her love for her husband and son, Charlotte was an avid bridge player with her close friends. Through her many years, she was blessed to be able to spend more time with her son and daughter-in-law, who lived next door.

Most of all, Charlotte loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlotte is survived by: Son: Les (Ute) Olson (Albert Lea), Grandchildren: Jeff (Tia) Long (Florida), Jessica (Brad) Tietz (Le Sueur), Stefanie (Jason) Wellentin (Lonsdale), Dani (Spencer) Clevenger (Albert Lea). Great Grandchildren: Isaiah, Hunter, Zoey, Thea (Nathan) Riebel, Isaac, Ruby, Daisy, Louise, Lilly, Jace, Cooper, Ella, Leighton, and baby Charlotte. As well as several nieces and nephews. Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband: Larry, her father: Fred, mother: Edith, brothers: Charles & Elmer (Maurita), sister: Beatrice (Harold), nephews: Bill and Jim. 

Charlotte's family will be accepting visitors at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation  on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00PM. She will be interred alongside her husband Larry at Graceland Cemetery during a private family graveside.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Salem Lutheran Church in Charlotte's memory.
