Carol Jean Kipp

Carol Jean Kipp, 82, of Albert Lea, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community in Albert Lea.

Born on May 30, 1943, in Mason City, Iowa, Carol was the cherished daughter of Robert and Leona (Runtsch) Seater and was raised on her family farm just outside Northwood, Iowa.

In 1965, Carol married the love of her life, Fred Kipp, and together they forged a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. A dedicated payroll specialist and receptionist at Cargill for many years, Carol was known for her loyalty and reserved nature. Once you were her friend, you were a friend for life. She served as a long-time member of Bolin Church in Bolin, IA, where her warmth and kindness will be sorely missed.

Carol had a passion for life that shone in her simple pleasures. She found joy in watching television and playing games online, and she loved testing her luck at the casino, with many memorable trips to Las Vegas and Reno. Her heart was particularly fond of Split Rock, where she made treasured memories surrounded by nature. An avid admirer of lighthouses, she often shared her love for these majestic structures with her family.

As a devoted mother to her daughter, Kimm Christenson, and a doting grandmother, Carol found true happiness in spending time with her family. She taught them the importance of relaxation, and evenings spent on the deck with loved ones were some of her favorite moments. Carol was not just a simple woman; she was a beacon of light with a great sense of humor and a laugh that was truly one of a kind.

Those left to cherish Carol’s memory include her daughter, Kimm (Tom) Christenson; grandchildren, Zach Christenson, Alyssa (Ethan) Severtson; and Karli Christenson (Rudy Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Gavin, Chandler, Ophelia and baby Bowie, whose arrival she was excited for; a sister-in-law, Connie Hagen; and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Robert and Leona Seater, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Kipp; brother, Jim Seater; furry companions, Buster and Buttons; and a granddog, Nyah.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services, with Pastor Ryan Stevenson-Cosgrove officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:30 - 1:00PM prior to the service.
