Carol Jean (Fricke) Bayerkohler, 72, of New Richland, MN, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, with her family by her side.
Carol was born on January 27, 1953, in Worthington, MN, to Norman and Gladys (Froderman) Fricke. She graduated from Round Lake MN High School in 1971 and then attended Worthington Community College and Mankato State College, where she earned a degree in Math and Computer Science.
On September 6, 1975, Carol was united in marriage to Dale Bayerkohler and settled in New Richland, MN. Carol worked at the EF Johnson company in Waseca, MN as a computer programmer for a few years before starting a family and then becoming a stay-at-home mom until all four children were in school. She then worked as a paraprofessional for the NRHEG school until her retirement.
She loved her children and attended and supported all of their activities. She also cherished her five grandsons and took every opportunity she had to be with them. She loved having the entire family over for holidays and birthdays and cooking up a storm and also attending gatherings with all the siblings. She used her faith, family and friends as her support line.
You might also find Carol cheering on the Vikings and Twins, attending games now and then, or she might be walking with friends including her husband. Carol was also active over the years with several activities in Trinity Lutheran Church. She took pride in creating beautiful quilts for all her children and grandchildren with a couple quilts being interrupted by her passing.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Dale of nearly 50 years; four children, Matt Bayerkohler, April (Noah)Bayerkohler-Mason, Brian (Betsy) Bayerkohler, Kyle Bayerkohler; five grandchildren, Ryker Bayerkohler, Jaxson Bayerkohler, Oliver Bayerkohler, Isaac Bayerkohler-Mason, Myles Bayerkohler; step-grandchildren, Jackson Mason, Brynn Mason, Madeline Mason, and Luke Mason; seven siblings, Al (Delores) Fricke, June Howard, Jane (Bob) Crist, Diane (Bill Kramme) Hall, Norm Fricke, Pat (Steve) Voss, Betty (Darvin) DeBerg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vickie (Jim) Milbrath, Stan (Tammy Shelton) Bayerkohler, Peggy (Reed) Scheppmann; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norm and Gladys Fricke; brother, Steve Fricke, brothers-in-law, Randy Howard, Glenn Bayerkohler; two nephews, Cassidy Voss and Jared DeBerg; and her parents-in-law, Weldon and Elaine Bayerkohler.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Olaf cemetery in New Richland. The service will be livestreamed.
